Last year the Cardinals’ volleyball season ended abruptly and in controversy, hardly fitting for the team that reached the plateau of a 35-win season and a state berth. The Cardinals were the odd ones out in a confusing three-way tie after pool play at the state tournament. Rather than advance to compete for the state title, they were sent home earlier than expected.
Clergymen oppose expanded liquor sales

While some in the wake of new state liquor legislation have welcomed the possibility of a package store or Sunday beer sales in Eudora, others are speaking out against it. Three such people came before the Eudora City Council Monday on a night when Casey’s convenience store representatives sent a letter requesting information on the steps they would have to take to sell beer on Sundays.

Beatty, city to renew pursuit of state grant

Eudora City Administrator Cheryl Beatty has the backing of the city council to undertake the first big administrative project of her city tenure. She will try to secure a downtown improvement grant for the 2007-2008 state budget year.
