Football schedule set for 2006

The Eudora football season ended on the road, but for the second-straight season the Cardinals will begin things in the comfort of home. The 2006 football schedule, finalized in October, has Eudora starting the year with two-consecutive home games, a luxury that helped the team to a 2-0 start this past fall.

Wrestlers fall in season opener

A year ago the Cardinal wrestling team began the year with a 61-7 setback to the then third-ranked Santa Fe Trail Chargers. The team learned where they stood against the fierce competition and the same could be said for the team’s return trip to the Chargers home mats on Tuesday.

Council to study possible recreational center, swimming pool

On the last day of the season, equipment at Eudora’s swimming pool failed. The equipment failure, coupled with the pool’s overall age, has forced the city to consider the pool’s usefulness on a year-by-year basis. The city plans to operate the pool for one more year. But that could soon change if plans — to be drafted by BG Consultants for a new swimming facility and recreation center — spark the public’s imagination. Residents could see the creation of something entirely new headed their way.
