Services for Gary Dean Kellison, 62, Lawrence, were Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, Mo. Burial with military rites was at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
Mr. Kellison died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at the Eudora Nursing Center.
He was born Aug. 18, 1943, in Brashear, Mo., the son of Raymond Arthur and Rebecca Bell Kellison. He attended Brashear public schools and Kansas University.
Mr. Kellison served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1970, during the Vietnam War, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal with two stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, a Meritorious Unit Emblem, the Army Commendation Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster and a Meritorious Unit Citation Medal.
He lived for more than 30 years in Lawrence, where he was employed with Meyers Dairy for several years before going to work for Essex Wire & Cable, where he was employed 11 years. He was last employed with Huhtamaki in De Soto until becoming ill.
He married Elizabeth "Beth" Kellison on Dec. 22, 1961, in Kirksville. She survives of Lawrence.
Other survivors include three sons, Brian Kellison and James Kellison, both of Lawrence, and Gary Kellison, Lee's Summit, Mo.; four brothers, Albert Kellison, LaPlata, Mo., Norman Kellison and Bill Kellison, Kirksville, and Laverne Kellison, San Jacinto, Calif.; five sisters, Letha St. Clair, Fort Madison, Iowa, Lucille Collop and Loetta McCartney, Kirksville, Mary Hopewell, Papillion, Neb., and Wilma Stewert, Hamilton, Ill.; and eight grandchildren.
One granddaughter died earlier.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County or the Kansas Dialysis Center, sent in care of the Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
