Raymond D. Reed

Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond D. Reed, 63, Lawrence, were Thursday, Dec. 30, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Reed died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 15, 1941, in Lawrence, the son of Delbert and Opal Maybery Reed. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1959.
Mr. Reed worked at Farmland Industries Inc. as a pipefitter until it closed.
Mr. Reed served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Alford-Clarke Post No. 852 and American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 in Lawrence. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church.
He married Phyllis Briggs on May 26, 1967, in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Turner, Lawrence, and Michelle Spurling, Eudora; two brothers, Delbert Reed Jr., Lawrence, and George Reed, Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; and two granddaughters.
The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Fund, sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.
