Raymond B. Farmer Jr.
Services for Raymond B. "J.R." Farmer Jr., 62, Eudora, were Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence. Burial was in Eudora Cemetery.
Mr. Farmer died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at his home.
He was born July 4, 1942, in Lawrence, the son of Raymond Boyd and Retta Hillebert Farmer Sr.
Mr. Farmer was a truck driver for many years. He moved to Eudora in 1990 where he was a construction framer. He also worked on a farm and was a mechanic.
He married Jean A. Sowers on Sept. 15, 1996, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Todd Simpson, Lewisville, Texas; four daughters, Helen Simpson and Tina Payne, both of Eudora, Peggy Darr, Pomona, and Julie Fennel, Parkville, Mo.; five brothers, Gary Farmer, Bill Farmer, Ray Farmer and Terry Farmer, all of Oskaloosa, and Tom Farmer, Smyrna, Tenn.; three sisters, Marcia Shughart and Juanita Basinger, both of Lawrence, and Reta Foley, Lecompton; and 13 grandchildren.
His stepmother, Mona A. Farmer; a brother, Bobby Lee Farmer; and a grandson, Erick Lee Darr, preceded him in death.
