Wrestling club supported

June 2, 2005

I am writing in response to the article published in May 26 issue of The Eudora News.

As a supporter of the Eudora Wrestling Club, I thought I would correct some of the impressions made by Scott Hopson.

First of all, the Junior Cardinal Wrestling Club is not replacing the Eudora Wrestling Club; it is simply making an addition to the Eudora community. There are two wrestling clubs in Eudora.

The dedication of time, the knowledge, and the respect from around the state makes the Eudora Wrestling Club highly noted. The club has produced numerous state champions and state placers throughout the years. This last year, we ended with a state champion, and state runner up, and two 5-year-olds who qualified for the state tournament. The coaching and directing is exceptional.

The Eudora Wrestling Club represents Eudora well. The youth who are members of the club are rewarded with a coaching staff of high regard, morals and values. In return the coaches are rewarded with terrific kids.

We will continue to strive for the best, and in return we will give our best.

The Eudora Wrestling Club is chartered through USA Wrestling and its Kansas affiliate. The success of our annual tournament speaks for itself. More than 500 wrestlers from across the state, with their families and friends are brought to Eudora for one thing -- a terrific tournament and great competition. The club hosts one of the best tournaments in eastern Kansas, and we will continue this upcoming season.
