Kenneth J. Shockley
Services for Kenneth James "Jimmy" Shockley, 57, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lawrence Funeral Chapel. Cremation is planned.
Mr. Shockley died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at his home.
He was born Oct. 31, 1947, in Wheaton, Mo., the son of Raymond Benjamin and Geneva "Marcine" Johnson Shockley. He graduated from Eudora High School and attended Evangel College in Springfield, Mo. He received a bachelor of science degree in architectural engineering from Southwest Missouri State University in 1969. He was a lifelong resident of the Lawrence and Eudora areas.
Mr. Shockley owned and operated K. Shockley Construction Company Inc. for many years and also worked for his father for many years.
He married Kathy Groves. They divorced. He married Donna Anderson. They divorced. He married Sheila Weaver. They divorced. He married Diane Elizabeth Watts on Oct. 31, 1994, in Las Vegas. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his mother, Eudora; two sons, Bradley K. Shockley, Shawnee, and Randall M. Brooks, Lawrence; two daughters, Kaylee Rhodes, Overbrook, and Jennifer Reser, Lawrence; a sister, Judy Ruff, Lawrence; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. at the chapel before the services.
The family suggests memorials to the Kenneth James Shockley Memorial Fund, sent in care of the chapel.
