Jimmie L. Gillihan
Services for Jimmie L. Gillihan, 65, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence. Burial will be in Edgerton Community Cemetery, Edgerton.
Mr. Gillihan died Monday, June 20, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 2, 1940, in Edgerton, the son of Clifford Edington and Mable Louise Graves Gillihan. He graduated from Edgerton High School in 1958.
Mr. Gillihan worked as a dispatcher for the Lawrence Police Department for 32 years, retiring in 1995. He later worked at the Douglas County Jail at the reception desk.
He was an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lawrence Lodge No. 2, past president of the Associated Public Communications Officers and secretary/treasurer of the Mo-Kan State Line Peace Officers Association.
He married Laura S. McLeod on Feb. 24, 1968, in Nowata, Okla. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Brian Gillihan, Eudora; and two grandchildren.
