David F. Hanson

Services for David F. Hanson, 70, Lawrence, were Friday, Feb. 25, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence. Private inurnment was in Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Mr. Hanson died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 30, 1934, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Loring and Lois Laptad Hanson.

He received his Masters in Business Admini-

stration from Kansas University in 1981. He moved to Lawrence from Eudora four years ago.

Mr. Hanson served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. He served in Vietnam and retired as a lieutenant commander. He worked for the state Department of Administration in communications until he retired in 1998. He was a member of TROA Retired Officers Assn., Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

He married Mary Louise Born on May 2, 1959, in San Diego. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Timothy Hanson, Frisco, Colo., and Michael Hanson, Lawrence; and four grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Heart of America Assn., Disabled American Veterans or the donor's choice, sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.
