Graveside services for Donald Dean Howard, 74, Eudora, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Prairie Center Cemetery, southeast of Eudora.

Mr. Howard died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at his home.

He was born Nov. 3, 1930, in Lawrence, the son of Fred Lewis and Mrytle Garratt Howard. He grew up in Lawrence and graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1948. He moved to Eudora in 1958.

Mr. Howard served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954.

He was a lifetime farmer and also worked as a foreman for Farmland Industries, retiring in 1989 after 35 years of service.

Mr. Howard was a beef project leader for the Eudora 4-H Club.

He married June Marie Frost on Dec. 24, 1950, in Lawrence. She died Nov. 12, 1993.

Survivors include a son, Mark L. Howard, Hutchinson; three daughters, Jenice K. Howard, Tulsa, Okla., Denise G. Howard, Eudora, and Susan M. Hettenbach, Woodbine; a sister, Alice Eisele, Lawrence; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana St., Lawrence.
