Robert H. “Bob” Bowers

Services for Robert H. "Bob" Bowers, 66, Silver Lake, were Friday, March 25, at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial was in Silver Lake Cemetery.

Mr. Bowers died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at his home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1938, in Silver Lake, the son of Joe and Clara Startup Bowers. He was raised in Grantville and graduated from Perry High School in 1956.

Mr. Bowers served in the Kansas Army National Guard for eight years. He worked for Kansas State Printers for more than 27 years. He was a produce farmer and sold his products at the Lawrence Farmers Market for 15 years. He bred and raised Weimaraners and was a member of the Eagle's Lodge in Topeka.

He married Phyllis Rath in July 1957, in Topeka. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Brad Bowers and Bobby Bowers, both of Silver Lake, and Brent Bowers, Rossville; a sister, Janet Buxton, Topeka; three half-brothers, Glen Bowers, Topeka, Monte Bowers, De Soto, and Jack Bowers, Eudora; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice, sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka 66608.
