Clara E. “Becky” Ott

Memorial services for Clara Elizabeth "Becky" Ott, 80, Eudora, were Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. Paul United Church of Christ.
Mrs. Ott died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 26, 1925, in Lawrence, the daughter of the Rev. Theodore and Elsa Straub Hauck.
Mrs. Ott received a nursing degree from Research Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., in 1947. She worked at the Gardner Medical Center for 23 years, Eudora Nursing Center for three years and Douglas County Visiting Nurses for 10 years. She retired in 1992.
Mrs. Ott was a volunteer for Audio Reader and Douglas County Hospice. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Eudora and the Lawrence Farmer's Market.
She married Floyd L. Ott on Feb. 29, 1948, in Higginsville, Mo. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include three daughters, Roberta K. Farris, Columbia, Mo., Jane O. Barthurst, Richmond, Va., and Peggy A. Skaggs, Longmont, Colo.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A brother, Phil Hauck, preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses or to Douglas County Hospice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora 66025.
