Food drive pickup is Saturday
Residents are reminded to place filled bags for the 19th-annual Scouting for Food drive on their doorsteps by 9 a.m. Saturday.
Cub Scouts, Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H Club members and adult volunteers will pick up the items.
Packaged and canned non-perishable food items -- especially canned fruit, dried cereal and boxed dinners -- and toilet paper, facial tissues and paper towels may be donated.
If the Scouting for Food bag is lost or not received, any paper or plastic bag marked in big letters, "Scouting for Food," can be used.
If items are not picked up by 1 p.m. Saturday, call John Scott at 542-3510, and arrangements will be made for pick up.
The items collected will be given to the Eudora Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, housed at St. Paul United Church of Christ.
The Eudora Scouting groups have participated in this community service project since 1988. The Eudora 4-H Club was asked to help with the annual event in 2005.
