How They Voted

April 6, 2006

The House last week amended and adopted, on a 63-62 vote, Senate Bill 297.

The bill, among other things, would allow wine or beer that is legally available in Kansas to be sold and consumed during the Kansas State Fair. It also would allow Kansas wineries to ship out of state to homes of purchasers.

The Senate, which earlier had passed its version of the bill, would not accept the House changes, and so the bill has been sent to a joint conference committee to iron out the differences.

Here's how area House members voted:

Yes: Anthony Brown, R-Eudora; Ray Cox, R-Bonner Springs; Marti Crow, D-Leavenworth; Tom Holland, D-Baldwin City; Mary Pilcher-Cook, R-Shawnee; Stephanie Sharp, F-Lenexa; Kenny Wilk, R-Lansing.

No: Margaret Long, D-Kansas City; Judy Morrison, R-Shawnee; Candy Ruff, D-Leavenworth.
