Local churches announce Holy Week, Easter services

The Ministerial Alliance will have its annual Good Friday service at 7 p.m. April 14 at Holy Family Church, 820 Birch St.

First Southern Baptist Church, 1103 Main, will have Easter sunrise services at 7 a.m. April 16 followed by a breakfast at 8 a.m.

St. Paul United Church of Christ, Eighth and Church streets, will have a parade of palms at 10 a.m. Sunday.
St. Paul UCC will also have a 16-hour prayer vigil from 8 p.m. April 13 to noon April 14 at the church to remember the night Jesus was betrayed.
An Easter sunrise service will be at 6:30 a.m. April 16 at the Burnham's pond. Breakfast will follow at 7:30 a.m. at the church. The traditional service will take place at 10 a.m.

Hesper Friends Church, 2355 N. 1100 Rd., will have an Easter breakfast at 8 a.m. April 16.
To make reservations for the breakfast, call 542-2625 by April 13.

Holy Family Church, 820 Birch, will have Holy Thursday services at 7 p.m. April 13 and Good Friday services at 3 p.m. April 14. There will be no 5 p.m. mass April 15. Instead, Holy Saturday services will be at 7 p.m.
Sunrise Easter services will take place at 7 a.m. April 16 at the home of Mark Grosdidier. Easter Sunday mass is at 10 a.m. at the church.

Eudora Church of Christ, 1530 Winchester Road, will follow its normal schedule of Bible study at 10 a.m. and Sunday services at 11 a.m.

The Eudora United Methodist Church will have a service of shadows candlelight service at 7 p.m. April 13 at the church, 703 Church St. The service will guide participants in the shadows of Christ's journey to the cross.
Easter sunrise services will take place at 6 a.m. April 16 at the church's future building site at the corner of Winchester Road and 1300 Road, on the south side of Kansas Highway 10. A breakfast will follow at the church, 703 Church St.
A combined Easter celebration service will take place at 10 a.m. at the church.

Stations of the Cross, sponsored by the Eudora United Methodist Church, are available for self-guided meditation on the church's future building site at the corner of Winchester Road and 1300 Road, on the south side of Kansas Highway 10.
Twelve different scriptures and readings are offered at the site that will take participants through the last hours of Christ's life on earth.
The site is open daily to the public during daylight hours through Easter. A parking area is marked, and benches are provided.

Eudora Assembly of God, 800 block of Main, will have its Easter Sunday services at 10:30 a.m.

Clearfield United Methodist Church, 597 E. 2200 Rd., south of Eudora, will have Maundy Thursday services at 7 p.m. April 13. Easter sunrise services will take place at 6:30 a.m. and Easter worship will be at 9:20 a.m.

Easter Sunday services at Family of Faith Fellowship, 2295 N. 1300 Rd., will be at 9:30 a.m. at the church. An Easter brunch will follow the service.
