Quilt workshop slated
Quilt lovers are invited to attend "Caring for Your Quilts," a workshop in which Watkins Community Museum of History curator Kerry Lippincott will share techniques and methods to preserve treasured quilts.
The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to noon April 22 at the museum, 1047 Massachusetts St., Lawrence.
Participants are encouraged to bring a quilt for consultation.
The workshop is the second in the series of "Caring for Your Collections," which was created by Watkins Museum staff in honor of the American Association's 100th anniversary.
In this Year of the Museum, the Watkins Museum is also offering workshops on caring for books, silver, antique clothing and toys. Each class costs $15, however, there are discounts for attending three or more.
For more information or to enroll, call the museum at 841-4109.
