City-wide clean-up set
The city of Eudora has announced May 1 through 5 as city clean-up week.
Debris not eligible for collection include tires, chemicals, oil, paint, dirt, commercial or industrial waste or materials of an explosive, toxic or liquid nature.
Hedge trimmings will be picked up at a later date.
Anyone who has tree trimmings to be picked up can call the city shop at 542-3100 to schedule a pick up date.
Statue project fund-raiser
Thirty-five percent of all pizza or sandwich orders placed Tuesday at Gambino's Pizza/Hero Deli, 1402-D Church St., will benefit the Eudora Statue Project.
Participants must bring in a flier or copy of the newspaper ad found on Page 5A of this issue of The Eudora News.

The Eudora High School concert band performed April 13 at the Kansas State High School Activities Association State Large Group Festival in Osage City.
The band received two II ratings and one I rating, for a final rating of II.
The band also participated in a sight-reading session and received a II rating.
The Eudora High School choir received a Superior rating at the Large Group Choral Festival April 12 in Osage City and at the Solo and Ensemble Festival April 8 in Baldwin City.
This is the fifth year the choirs -- combined women's choir, men's ensemble and cantorei -- have earned top honors at Large Group Festival and will go on to perform at the state music festival.
The EHS forensics team traveled to Garnett Monday to compete in the Anderson County High School Forensics Tournament.
Brittany Pittman earned a third-place finish in poetry, qualifying for state.
Larissa Maranell's performance in both prose and poetry moved her into the final rounds of competition, placing in the top six for prose and finishing in fourth place in poetry.
Morgyn Carey also performed.
The team's combined efforts earned the school the Logan Young Award for Performance that is awarded by Anderson County High School. The award recognizes the school that earns the most points per person participating in the tournament.
The Eudora High School Booster Club is taking orders for regional baseball shirts.
Eudora is hosting the 4A tournament May 15 and 16 at the high school baseball field.
Teams in the Eudora regional include Anderson County, Baldwin, Eudora, Fort Scott, Louisburg, Osawatomie, Prairie View and Spring Hill.
The T-shirts are gray, short-sleeved and will have all of the participating school's names on the back.
Cost is $12 each. Sizes XXL are $14 and XXXL are $15.
The shirts must be ordered and paid for in advance. They will be available for pick up on May 15 at the Eudora baseball complex.
Orders and checks, made payable to the Eudora High School Booster Club, are due May 3.
