Pinecrest news

The April birthday party was Wednesday evening at Pinecrest II clubroom with 27 residents and friends enjoying the salad supper, birthday cake and ice cream.

Those celebrating birthdays were Tammy Lathrom, Clarice Morriss, Emma Jean Taylor and Harold Sisk. Harold and Alma Sisk were also celebrating their anniversary.

  • The potluck dinner will be at noon Saturday in Pinecrest II clubroom.

  • Tillie Bichelmeyer spent Easter Sunday at the home of Ron and Mary Beth Mersmann. All the Ralph Mersmann family enjoyed the Easter dinner.

  • Tillie Bichelmeyer, Emma Jean Taylor and Valerie Richardson drove to Overland Park Tuesday to the home of Jan Kelly for lunch. They also played cards. Julia Polfer and Ellen Moll, Olathe, were also guests.

  • Bertie Morriss was an Easter dinner guest of her daughter and son-in-law Merlene and Price McCormick.

Other guests were Kevin and Anna McCormick, Lawrence, Kurtis and Misty McCormick, Kasi and Kurtis, and Travis and Brandi McCormick and Jace.

  • Don and Sylvia Burns, Early, Iowa, spent from Friday until Monday with his mother, Elsie Mathia.

  • Elva Jordan and Darlene Randel drove to Wellsville for Easter dinner Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Cummings. Nearly 100 relatives and friends enjoyed the dinner and the rodeo in the afternoon.

  • Pinecrest residents were saddened by the death of Kenneth Vorhies Monday morning.

  • Gina Thompkins and son Mason, Lone Jack, Mo., spent Friday afternoon and evening with their mother and grandmother Clarice Morriss.

  • Clarice Morriss, Emma Jean Taylor and Lela Morley went out for lunch Friday to celebrate their birthdays, which are on the same day -- April 13.

  • Clarice Morriss was an Easter dinner guest of her sister Phyllis Oshel.

Others enjoying the dinner were Tammy Galloway and daughters Cassie and Allie, Lawrence, and Ernie Oshel.

  • Gertrude Coon was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Thursday morning.

  • Betty Ryan was released from the hospital and is recovering at the home of her daughter Barbara Earnheart in Linwood.

  • Bud Neilson is home after spending several weeks at the University of Kansas Medical Center following a car accident.

  • My granddaughter Melody Tuggle and great-granddaughters Halee and Chelsea of Lawrence visited me Tuesday evening.

  • My daughter Sharon Musick and my great-great-granddaughter Aftyn Hankins, Linwood, visited me Wednesday morning.

  • I was a dinner guest Easter of my daughter and son-in-law Sharon and LaVerne Musick in Linwood.

Other guests were Wilson and Pam Snively, Maryville, Mo.; Dudley Steffen, Gravois Mills, Mo.; Dennis Musick, Jessica Wilcox and Jeremiah Smith, all of Tonganoxie; Autumn Musick and Aftyn, Trinity and Duncan, Tiffany Musick and Donald Musick.
