Arts center news

In the community tradition of "A Kansas Nutcracker," the Lawrence Arts Center is producing a new collaborative dance/drama holiday event.
The center is looking for donations, large and small, to help defray new start-up costs for costumes, music, script and set.
Donations or pledges may be sent to Lawrence Arts Center, Snow Queen Project, 940 New Hampshire, Lawrence 66044.

The Lawrence Arts Center will have an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the arts center, 940 New Hampshire, Lawrence.
The open house will include performances by Summer Youth Theatre actors and members of the Seem-To- Be Players and Lawrence Ballet Ensemble.

Community auditions for "Turns" by Ric Averill will take place at 2 p.m. Aug. 27 for ballet dancers between 10 and 14 years of age, and several young and adult actors.
