Obituary: Dorotha L. Prager

1913-2006

Funeral services for Dorotha Louise Mathias Prager, 93, Ottawa, were Friday, Dec. 15, at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa. Private family graveside services followed.

Ms. Prager died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at Eudora Nursing Center.

She was born Aug. 17, 1913, in Richter, the daughter of John D. Mathias and Dora Detwiler Mathias Weaver. She grew up and attended schools in Carrolton, Mo., and Ottawa. She graduated from Ottawa High School in 1931 and attended Ottawa Business College.

Ms. Prager was a homemaker and worked for 13 years for Malotts and Watts Hardware stores from 1962 to 1975. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ottawa for many years. She was also an active member of the Oasis, EHU, Ransom Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Ottawa Historical Society and the American Red Cross.

She married Clarence F. Prager on Nov. 5, 1935, in Lawrence. He died March 14, 1973.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Prager, Augusta, Mo., and Gary Prager, Lawrence; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, sent in care of the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa 66067.
