Boys bounce back in Tonganoxie tourney

After dropping the tournament opener to Silver Lake, the Eudora boys basketball team bounced back with two-straight wins last week to take fifth-place at the Tonganoxie Invitational. Eudora snapped a two-game skid on Thursday with a hard fought 53-45 overtime victory against the Lansing Lions, which was followed by a last-second win over Leavenworth Immaculata, 53-52, Saturday to secure fifth-place.

During the Eudora Cardinals’ four-game win streak, things had been somewhat easy. The team had averaged a 23-point margin of victory over the stretch, but Tuesday’s opening game of the Top Gun Tournament brought that streak at least, to an end. Eudora’s Michelle Deluna hit a 3-pointer with eight seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime, where the Cardinals held on for their fifth straight win over KC Piper, 68-62.
