Services in the park

Eudora United Methodist Church will have services at 8:30 a.m. Sundays in the CPA Park in downtown Eudora.

The services will take place each Sunday -- with the exception of July 16 -- until July 30.

In case of inclement weather, services will take place at the church, 703 Church St.

The community is invited. Those planning to attend are asked to dress in summer casual and bring lawn chairs.

  • The Eudora United Methodist Church will have a fellowship potluck dinner at 11:45 a.m. Sunday to welcome its new pastor, the Rev. Michael Tomson-DeGreeff.

  • A groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. at the "Flame and Cross" building site at the intersection of Kansas Highway 10 and Winchester Road.

  • A workday for Vacation Bible School will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Eighth and Church streets.

  • Prayer groups take place at 7 a.m. Thursdays and 10 a.m. Mondays at the home of Elva Kindred. Another prayer group takes place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the fellowship hall at the church.

  • The Eudora United Methodist Church is in charge of the CPA Picnic concession stand. The stand will open at 4 p.m. July 13, 14 and 15.
