Citywide garage sale, bargain hunting on tap for weekend
June 8, 2006
Residents across the city will be woven together Saturday by cardboard boxes and knickknacks, their quest for the perfect deal and above all, their concerted effort to make Eudora’s citywide garage sale a success.
Deal reached for church
June 8, 2006
As Eudora United Methodist Church history relates, the cross hanging in the center of its chapel was made from driftwood branches found floating in the Wakarusa River. Now much like the two branches in the cross, the congregation itself will be floating. But instead of bobbing between two banks, they will be floating between two buildings.

Cross country team arleady back in action
June 8, 2006
It is early Thursday morning, but the sun’s up and already piercing through the trees, illuminating what hours ago was a dark and dank path through the forested hills north of Eudora. Summer is less than a week old for all who whisk through overhanging branches, and even newer for a few, but that does little to slow the pace of the Eudora cross country team.
Eudora to return promising talent
June 8, 2006
A season that was in the making since 2003 came to an end May 27 as the Eudora Cardinals fell to the Bishop Ward Cyclones in the state championship game. Seven players from the Frontier League and sub-state regional champs walked off the field for the last time in Cardinal red.
Quick end doesn’t diminish season
June 8, 2006
The 2006 Cardinal softball season ended abruptly at the hands of Kansas City Piper in the 4A sub-state regional tournament. But as the softball team went home on that day in late May, there were many things to be proud of in the season that passed. Eudora’s 16-6 year proved to be a four-game improvement over what was at times a rocky 2005 campaign.
Girls track enjoys best season
June 8, 2006
Looking back over the past few months, Phil Katzenmeier had quite a bit to think about as his 2006 Cardinal track team put the final touches on its season last week in Wichita. An undefeated regular season schedule, record setting performances at nearly every meet and a state runner-up at the championships had the Cardinal head coach reaching for the right way to describe his team’s incredible season.
Cards’ season decked with multiple honors
June 8, 2006
It fell agonizingly short this year as a season long quest disintegrated within the span of a single inning in Salina. The 16-3 defeat to the Bishop Ward Cyclones certainly put a damper on the 2006 campaign for the Eudora baseball team, but one game’s failure couldn’t overshadow a season’s worth of accomplishments.
