A free community safety fair will be from 5 to 9 p.m. June 29 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Community Building, 2120 Harper Ave., Lawrence.
Interactive activities for all ages, booths and presentations for more than 20 topics will be available.
Coastie, the Robotic Boat, will share information about boating and water safety. A free skin damage analyzer along with sunscreen samples will be available. There will be free child safety seat checks and free gunlocks, as well as firearm safety information.
A hazardous waste garbage display will be available to show patrons how to properly store and dispose of hazardous waste, and children and parents can get a close-up look at a fire truck and fire fighting gear.
The public is invited to attend.
