Morrison earns Eagle ranking

Eudora High School senior Joel Morrison will receive his Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Olathe Christian Church, 1115 South Ridgeview Road in Olathe.

Morrison started his Scouting career with Cub Scout Pack 3064 in Eudora. In 1999, he graduated from Cubs to Boy Scouts, joining Troop 64.

He has served as troop quartermaster, bugler, assistant patrol leader, troop guide, chaplain's aide, assistant senior patrol leader and senior patrol leader.

Morrison attended Camp Naish near Bonner Springs and Camp Battle near Osceola, Mo., and worked on staff at Camp Bartle.

With his troop last summer, Morrison made a two-week trip to Philmont, the Boy Scout high adventure camp in New Mexico.

Morrison has earned more than 30 merit badges. For his Eagle service project, he planned and oversaw a program at 60 percent increases.

Morrison will graduate from Eudora High School in May and plans to attend Kansas State University. He is the son of Jim and Kasey Morrison, Eudora.
