Services for Helen I. Wright, 88, Eudora, were Friday, March 3, at Eudora United Methodist Church. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
Mrs. Wright died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at Eudora Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 9, 1917, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Worth and Clara Wendorff Hawk. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School. She had lived in Eudora since 1951.
Mrs. Wright taught in the Jefferson County school district from 1937 to 1940. She also worked in the safety office at Hercules Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Eudora, Gem and Mineral Rock Club, Deborah Circle, Evangeline Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star in Baldwin and Helianthus Past Matron's Chapter in Eudora since 1952.
She married Enoch Emmett Wright on Dec. 30, 1938, in Laclede, Mo. He died in July 1998.
Survivors include two sons, Don Wright, Nampa, Idaho, and Emmett Wright, Manhattan; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the church or Visiting Nurses Assn., sent in care of the mortuary, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora 66025.
