Eudora residents invited to join in ACS Relay
Eudora will not be having a Relay For Life event this summer. Some of the past Eudora teams are participating in the Relay event June 16 and 17 at Baldwin City.
For those who cannot participate in that event, Eudora residents are invited to join in the battle against cancer at the 2006 American Cancer Society Relay For Life at 7 p.m. June 9 at the Free State High School track in Lawrence.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a fun-filled, overnight event that mobilizes communities throughout the country to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and raise money for the fight against cancer. Teams of eight to 15 members gather with tents and sleeping bags to participate in the largest fund-raising walk in the nation.
The Relay For Life brings together friends, families, businesses, hospitals, schools, churches and people from all walks of life. Those teams of eight to 15 members seek sponsorship prior to the Relay, all with the goal of supporting a cure for cancer.
Funds from the Relay For Life will support the American Cancer Society's cancer research, prevention and early detection education programs, advocacy efforts and services for cancer patients.
