Cards split with hard-throwing Ramsey and Ottawa
May 4, 2006
Against any other team, a first-inning walk that comes around to score on a two-out single wouldn’t necessarily be a very big deal. Unfortunately for the Cardinals, the pitcher on the opposing mound was one of the state’s best in Ottawa senior Megan Ramsey. All of a sudden, one run seemed like five.
Eudora wins, clings to third
May 4, 2006
The Eudora Cardinals went into this week in a tight race for third in the Frontier League and faced four games in two days to try and bolster their position. After two straight doubleheaders, the Cardinals stayed in the third-place race with a split in Ottawa and at home against Osawatomie. The Cardinals grabbed an important Frontier League win Tuesday with an impressive 14-4 game one win over the Trojans, but fell in the second game, 10-6, to fall to 13-4 overall.
Track team wins despite trip, long wait

Once again the weather seemed to make an attempt to stop the Eudora girls track team from taking another meet crown, as Thursday’s meet at Silver Lake was postponed because of rain. The meet was rescheduled for Monday, but the result was the same.

The Cyclones then gave Eudora another first, its first loss of the season. A tie breaking three-run sixth inning propelled Ottawa to a 5-2 win.

Eudora loses first game, rebounds with two wins
May 4, 2006
Although the first setback of the Cardinals’ 2006 season had only happened a day before, it might as well have been a year as Eudora took the field on Tuesday for their second doubleheader in two days. The Cardinals bounced back from their first loss of the season, behind solid pitching, good defense and some timely hitting, to sweep the Osawatomie Trojans, 7-3 and 15-2, Tuesday at Eudora High School.
