Mass of Christian Burial for Judy Harris, 58, Fort Collins, Colo., was Wednesday, April 19, at the Blessed John XXIII Catholic University Parish in Fort Collins. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, Fort Collins.
Mrs. Harris died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, in Burbank, Calif., after a sudden illness.
She was born Jan. 23, 1948, in Lawrence, the daughter of William and Fredericka Gufler Schehrer. She lived in Eudora and attended Marymount College in Salina. After graduation from college, she moved to Colorado.
Mrs. Harris was a teacher at Poudre High School and a fourth-grade teacher at Putnam and Lopez elementary schools before retiring in 2000. She served as a Eucharistic minister at the Blessed John XXIII Catholic University Parish and distributed communion to patients at Poudre Valley Hospital. She also volunteered through the American Cancer Society's "Reach to Recovery" program and was a nursing home visitor.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Joe Harris.
Other survivors include two sisters, Susie Trabant, Livermore, Colo., and Pat Stramel, Kansas City, Kan.
