A year ago, Kelson Boyer found himself pitching junior varsity and if he was lucky, getting mop-up duty in a lopsided game on the varsity side. In 2006, things have changed a little bit for the sophomore as he was given the opportunity to start a few games for the Cardinals in their effort to reach state.

Eudora coach Cara Kimberlin told her players before Tuesday’s doubleheader with De Soto they had two choices on how they could end their 2006 season in front of the home crowd. She explained that they could either finish the business they started during the season and go out on top, or overlook their opponent and lose their final games at Eudora.
Cardinals fly in Wellsville meet

The annual Redbud Classic marked the Eudora track team’s third trip to Wellsville this season. And although each meet has had different teams participating, affecting the size and length of each event, there has been one constant when the athletes walked off the track. The Eudora Cardinal girls were in first place.
Cardinals lock up league title

The Eudora Cardinals walked off the field after the first game in Tuesday’s doubleheader with De Soto having locked down the 2006 Frontier League title with an 8-1 victory, giving them a 12-0 league mark for the season. However, the crowd watching the game would have hardly noticed a team that had clinched a league title, as the players walked off the field with other things on their minds.

After mulling the final form of a pool recreation complex for two weeks, the Eudora City Council gave the nod to put the project before the voters.
Country jubilee to kick off statue event series

The Eudora statue project began with a memorial brick road. Next it will give Eudora a little taste of Branson, Mo., by way of Tonganoxie. That’s because Annie’s Country Jubilee will come to town Friday to tune up their guitars and fiddles in order to raise money for a statue of the town’s namesake.
