Students win art awards
Eudora High School art students attended the 13th annual Frontier League art contest May 3 at Gardner Edgerton High School.
Eudora attended with 25 pieces of artwork and 10 students who chose learning experiences from a variety of workshops and activities. All 13 league schools were in attendance with similar numbers.
Activities included the judging of art projects by two Kansas City area artists and ribbon awards.
Of the 325 art works, 30 were given red ribbons for merit, 30 received blue ribbons for excellence and five outstanding pieces were awarded purple ribbons for best of show.
Eudora students receiving awards were Tori Tunget, one blue, one red; Tara Brecheisen, Jacob Gillihan, Larissa Maranell, Luke Abel, Katie Stanley, Michelle Deluna and Stephanie Wingebach, one blue ribbon each; and Jamie Morris, one red.
Points were given at each level to determine the overall best school.
Spring Hill took first followed by Gardner Edgerton and Eudora.
Ribbon winning art will be on display in the hallways at Eudora High school through the middle of May.
