State baseball brackets released

The brackets for the Class 4A state baseball tournament in Salina May 26 and 27 were released Thursday.

The Eudora High School baseball team will make its first appearance in the history of the school's program when it plays Wellington at 11 a.m. May 26 at the Dean Evans Stadium.

Eudora (22-1) drew the number one seed followed by Chanute (20-1); K.C. Bishop Ward (19-4); Scott City (19-4); Topeka-Hayden (18-5); Marysville (16-7); Andover-Central (14-7); and Wellington (11-10).

Scott City and Topeka-Hayden will take the field at 1:30 p.m. followed by Chanute and Andover-Central at 4 p.m. and Bishop Ward and Marysville at 6:30 p.m.

The winner of the Eudora-Wellington and Scott City-Topeka Hayden games will play at 10 a.m. Saturday. The winner of the Chanute-Andover Central and Bishop Ward-Marysville games will play at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

The game for third place in the state tournament will be at 3 p.m. Saturday followed by the championship game at 5:30 p.m.
