Band fund-raiser set

November 2, 2006

Advance tickets for the Eudora High School choir and band spaghetti dinner will be on sale beginning Thursday at Byrne's Pharmacy, Casey's General Store, Kaw Valley State Bank, Durkin's Hardware, Kwik Shop and C&S Market.

The exact date of the dinner will depend on when the high school production of "Once on the Island" takes place. Dinner will tentatively be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Eudora Middle School, 2635 Church St., unless the Eudora football team is playing in a playoff game that night. The alternate date is Nov. 9.

The exact date of the fund-raiser will be posted on the marquee at Laws Field.

The stars of the show will be available to visit with the audience from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m. the night of the fund-raiser.

The choir and band are raising funds to go to a national competition in Orlando in the spring of 2008.

Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 and younger.

Advance tickets can be purchased from choir and band members or reserved by calling Carrie Werst at 542-3833 or (785) 218-5203.

  • The Eudora High School band performed Oct. 28 at the Neewollah Festival in Independence, Kan.

Eudora earned a III rating in the field show at Riverside Park and a I rating in the grand parade through downtown Independence. The I rating was the first the band has received in approximately four years.
