Editor’s Note: The ticket prices for the spaghetti dinner fund-raiser are separate from the ticket prices for the performance. Magic abounds in fall musical set in the Caribbean
November 9, 2006
Eudora High School’s fall musical “Once on This Island” works on the simple internal truth that love does not always conquer all. That’s right, folks. The happy ending just isn’t happening –- at least not on the face of things. But in between the first act and the final curtain, the high school drama department leads the audience on a journey filled with mischievous gods, torn lovers and the constant drum-filled ambience of the French Antilles. The story might not be standard, but neither is the final product. “It’s edgy,” said director and vocal music instructor Angela Yarnell.

Eudora shuts down Atchison to keep dream season alive another week
November 9, 2006
It was the most important game of the season thus far, so the Eudora football team had every right to be nervous. But when the curtains drew Saturday afternoon in Atchison, the Cardinals were on their mark and did not let their nerves get to them. The Cardinals beat previously undefeated Atchison High School 20-12, securing Eudora a regional championship and advancing it to the next round of the Class 4A state playoffs.
Krutz’s wild style just one part of staunch defense
November 9, 2006
Look at Eudora defensive stalwart Chad Krutz immediately after a game and it all seems to make sense. The reckless nature with which he plays defense was reflected in his wild hair, and the sheer joy he takes from it all could be seen in the broad grin that split his face Saturday as he popped his helmet off after Eudora’s 20-12 victory against Atchison sent the Cardinals to the quarterfinals of the Class 4A state football tournament.
