The city will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2007.
In honor of the event, the Eudora Lions Club and City of Eudora are raising funds for a bronze statue of Chief Paschal Fish and his daughter, Eudora, the community's namesake. The statue will be placed in the CPA Park in downtown Eudora. Engraved bricks are available for purchase to benefit the fund-raiser.
Citizens of Eudora, neighbors, friends, families, groups or businesses may purchase an engraved brick to be placed at the base of the statue for $50 each.
For each brick purchased, the Eudora Lions Club will match it with a $10 donation.
Order forms are available at Byrne's Pharmacy, C&S Market, Kaw Valley Bank, Pyle Meat Co., Douglas County Bank, Mutual Savings, Eudora City Hall, Eudora Public Library, Madame Hatter's Tea Room and The Eudora News.
