Community support appreciated
The Eudora Lions Club would like to thank the Eudora community for its support of the chicken and noodle dinner that took place at Nottingham Elementary School in October. The event was well attended and resulted in a significant fund-raiser for the Eudora Statue Project.
A special thank you goes to the Eudora United Methodist Church kitchen committee for preparing the meal and for all their work in serving it on the evening of the event.
We also wish to thank the Eudora school district for allowing us to use the Nottingham kitchen and dining area.
We are on pace to achieve our fund-raising goal thanks to the generous contributions of the citizens of the Eudora area and for supporting our fund-raising activities.
We have already sold 150 engraved bricks to be placed around the base of the statue. Anyone who plans to purchase an engraved brick is asked to do so before Dec. 31, if possible. We will continue to sell bricks after that date, but the price will have to be increased effective Jan. 1, 2007.
