A reason for everything
I recently had a humbling and spiritual thing happen in my life, and I would like to share it with all of you.
I'm a big believer in all things happening for a reason. So there is a reason I'm in this lady's life and a reason I was getting an earlier start on the road that day. I saw my friend walking along the side of the road and rolled down my window to ask if she needed a ride somewhere. I took her to the middle school and on the way there she explained how her husband had recently left her and their two children. She had no car, so she walked everywhere. The only job she could find within walking distance was with the school district. She was worried about getting food on the table for her children.
Boy, I felt silly complaining that morning about the price of gasoline. As least, I have a vehicle. Here was a friend who suddenly had the rug pulled out from beneath her.
It was spiritual, as well. He was at work placing me at the right place at the right time. To shorten a long story a bit, through the help of some dear friends of mine she will be able to give her children a nice Christmas. My friend still has a long way to go, but I think she has a better start on a better future.
Without using names, I want to thank those involved in helping me help her. I think the Lord smiled that day, watching His children work amongst themselves to help one another.
Let's be thankful for our blessings and try to help those less fortunate at all times of the year.
