Football players honored

The Eudora High School football team had its awards ceremony Nov. 21 at the school.

Junior Travis Clarke was named Offensive Most Valuable Player. Senior Austin Hoover was named Defensive Most Valuable Player. Senior Richard Wilks was given the Don Abel Most Inspirational Award.

Offensive position awards were given to Travis Clarke, running back; Richard Wilks, offensive line; and Matthew Abel, wide receiver.

Defensive position awards were given to Michael Whitten, defensive line; Austin Hoover, linebacker; and Dustin Foulk, defensive back.

Several Eudora players were named to the Frontier League all-league first team offense including Kent Swanson, quarterback; Travis Clarke, running back; Tim Durkin, center; Richard Wilks, guard; Mike Sledd, tackle; Mike Ortega, tight end; and Matthew Abel, wide receiver.

Offensive linemen Max Alvarez and Kyle Plaice received honorable mention.

Players named to the Frontier League all-league first team defense were Austin Hoover, linebacker; Mike Whitten and Morgan Abel, defensive linemen; and Matthew Abel, defensive back.

Chad Krutz earned honorable mention as a linebacker. Todd Roberts received honorable mention for defensive lineman and Dustin Foulk earned honorable mention for defensive back.

Punter Loni Ogden earned all-league honorable mention for special teams.
