Greta D. Chubb

A celebration of life for Greta Denise Kanzig Chubb, 76, Merriam, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Asbury United Methodist Church, 5400 W. 75th St., Prairie Village. Private burial was in rural Deay Cemetery in Douglas County.

Mrs. Chubb died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, in Overland Park.

She was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Lawrence, the daughter of John and Besse Kanzig. She graduated from the one-room Johnson County Hopewell School and Baldwin City High School. She attended Baker University and St. Luke's School of Nursing and became a registered nurse in 1951.

Mrs. Chubb was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was involved with many organizations including parent teacher associations, the League of Women Voters, Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and Baker University.

She married H. Eugene Chubb on Jan. 26, 1952, in Baldwin City. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Stephen Chubb; two daughters, Katrina Stoway and Denise Masoner, Rochester, Minn.; a brother, Wayne Kanzig, rural Eudora; a sister, Roxana Hausman, rural Eudora; and three grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the church or a charity of the donor's choice, sent in care of the Cremation Society of Kansas and Missouri, 8837 Roe Ave., Prairie Village 66207.
