Sherrie Lynn Wood

Funeral services for Sherrie Lynn Wood, 40, Baldwin City, were Tuesday, Nov. 28, at First United Methodist Church in Baldwin City. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.

Mrs. Wood died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at her home.

She was born Dec. 27, 1965, at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif., the daughter of Donald R. and Ellen D. McDaniel Grammer.

She moved to Baldwin City in 1971 and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1984. She then attended Baker University in Baldwin City.

She had worked in the mailroom at Baker University and later ran a day care out of her home. She also had worked at Earl May Garden Center in Lawrence, the Baldwin Ledger, Stephens Real Estate in Baldwin City and most recently in the mass media and communication department at Baker University.

She enjoyed gardening and attending her sons' football, baseball and wrestling events.

She married Kevin D. Wood on June 1, 1985, in Baldwin City. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Joshua Wood and Jeremy Wood, both of the home; her mother, Ellen D. Grammer, Baldwin City; her father, Donald R. Grammer, Lawrence; three brothers, Michael Grammer, Eudora, and Kevin Grammer and Matthew Grammer, both of Baldwin City; and her maternal grandmother, Edith McDaniel, Baldwin City.

Her maternal grandfather, Howard J. McDaniel, and paternal grandparents, Samuel and May Grammer, died earlier.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Sherrie Wood Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin City 66006.
