Obituary — Marvin “Hans” Beem
Services for Marvin L. "Hans" Beem, 70, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Eudora City Cemetery.
Mr. Beem died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at his home.
He married Mary E. Long on June 18, 1960, in Miami, Okla. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Machaela Watson and husband Steve, Eudora; a brother, Donald Beem, Edwards, Mo.; two sisters, Norma Klossen, Lee's Summit, Mo., and Betty Rosebaugh, Barnes; a daughter-in-law, Mary Rose Beem, Eudora; mother-in-law, Fern Long, Eudora; three brothers-in-law John Long and wife Becky, San Antonio, Bill Long and wife Jan, Stewart, Fla., and Duane Hayes, Eudora; three grandchildren, Amanda Beem and Emily and Abigail Watson; and a step-grandchild, Jenna Watson.
A son, Matthew L. Beem, died in 2004.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
The family suggests memorials to First Southern Baptist Church Building Fund, Heart of America Hospice or the Center for Basic Cancer Research, sent in care of the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence 66044.
