Marilyn and Melvin Morriss Jr. visited his mother, Clarice Morriss, Thursday evening.


  • Carrie Fisher, Kansas City, spent Tuesday with her grandmother Elsie Mathia.

  • Elsie Mathia received word last week of the death of her son Paul Burns in Wichita.

  • Tillie Bichelmeyer was taken to the University of Kansas Medical Center Monday morning for tests.

  • Bertha Armstrong fell and broke her arm and is a patient at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

  • Elva Jordan had major surgery last week at Olathe Medical Center.

  • Gertrude Coon moved to the Vintage Park assisted living home in Baldwin City.

  • Bertie Morriss attended the birthday party Saturday afternoon for her great-grandson Jace McCormick at the home of his parents, Travis and Brandi McCormick. A host of relatives and friends came to help Jace celebrate his fourth birthday.

  • Carol Scott visited me Monday afternoon.

  • My great-great-granddaughter McKenzie Harner, Avondale, Ariz., called me Sunday evening and said her mom told her she could call me and tell me she had her own cell phone now. She is eight years old and was so excited to tell me all she could do on the computer and how she loved school.
