Pancake feed slated
The Lawrence Breakfast Optimist Club will have a pancake feed and silent auction from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 4 at the American Legion Hall, 3408 W. Sixth St., Lawrence.
Items to be auctioned include signed Kansas University basketballs, Buck O'Neil memorabilia and gift certificates.
Cost is a $6 donation. Children 6 and under eat free.
All proceeds support youth activities in Eudora and Lawrence.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
