Pinecrest news

Elsie Mathia fell Thursday afternoon on her way home from playing cards at Pinecrest II clubroom.


  • Don and Sylvia Burns, Early, Iowa, came Friday afternoon to visit their mother, Elsie Mathia.

  • Rocky and Betty Mason played cards Saturday afternoon with their mother, Elsie Mathia, and Don and Sylvia Burns, Early, Iowa.

  • Bob and Pat Burns, Siloam Springs, Ark., arrived Sunday to visit his mother, Elsie Mathia.

  • Bertie Morriss was a dinner guest Sunday evening of her daughter and son-in-law Merlene and Price McCormick.

Other guests were Kurtis and Misty McCormick and children Kasi and Kurtis, Travis and Brandi McCormick and son, Jace, and Kevin and Anna McCormick, Lawrence.

After dinner, the group carved pumpkins for Halloween.


  • Elva Jordan is still a patient at Olathe Medical Center, but she is doing better.

  • My daughter Sharon Musick and I attended the Fall Festival at the 4-H Fairgrounds on Friday. I used 30 pieces from my cup and saucer collection as centerpieces for the tables.

  • My daughter and son-in-law Pam and Wilson Snively, Maryville, Mo., visited me Sunday evening. My son Dudley Steffen, Gravois Mills, Mo., spent Sunday night with me. We all attended the pig roast Sunday at the home of my son and daughter-in-law David and Rhonda Tuggle and my grandson Austin.

  • My daughter Sharon Musick, Carol Scott and I attended the funeral Wednesday afternoon of Mildred Bottom, the mother of Christian Kramer, the president of the Rebekah Assembly of the state of Kansas.

  • My great-granddaughter Autumn Musick visited me Friday evening.

  • I was a dinner guest Thursday evening in honor of my grandson Austin Tuggle's 12th birthday at the home of his parents, David and Rhonda Tuggle.

Other guests were Bob and Cherry Eaton, Gardner, Sharon Stolemaker, Betty Solberg and Elva Kindred.
