Volunteers needed
The Nottingham Elementary School Site Council is looking for interested parents to join the council, which is an advisory group of Nottingham parents, teachers and staff. The NES Site Council meets four to five times during the school year.

Nottingham students earn WOW slips from teachers and staff by doing extraordinary work or demonstrating good manners.
At the end of each week, the office draws from the WOW slips to select one winner to receive a gift certificate and a candy bar.
Recent winners were Eian Han, Austin Brown, Noah Katzenmeier and Chase Dressler.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
