Dorothy Bell Yenzer

Private inurnment services for Dorothy Bell Yenzer, 78, Lawrence, will be later in Chase County.

Mrs. Yenzer died Friday, Sept. 1, 2006, at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehab Center.

She was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Wichita, the daughter of George E. and Anna Hess McMillan. She graduated from Emporia High School.

Mrs. Yenzer was a homemaker, had worked in retail sales at Sears and J.C. Penney in Manhattan and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star.

She married C. Wayne Yenzer on Dec. 28, 1945, in Burlington. He died Dec. 26, 1984.

Survivors include two sons, Douglas Yenzer, Bellevue, Neb., and Gary Yenzer, St. George; three daughters, Sandra Lawson, Eudora, Gail Coppersmith, Georgetown, Texas, and Beverly Yenzer, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A grandson, Derek, died earlier.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Assn., sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence 66044.
