Leash laws in effect

September 14, 2006

The City of Eudora passed a leash ordinance in 2005 maintaining all pets outside of the owner's personal property must be in physical control of the owner.

The ordinance specifies a dog would not be at large if it is on the property of the owner; has permission from another property owner for the dog to be there; or the dog is constrained to a leash that does not extend beyond a single leash and is in the physical control of the owner.

Any dog owners found to be in violation of the ordinance will be fined in addition to paying applicable costs and impoundment fees.
