Pinecrest news

The September birthday party and potluck dinner will be at noon Saturday in the Pinecrest II clubroom.

Birthday ladies are Nora Dyche and Alvena Tuggle.


  • Joe and Marty Bichelmeyer, Shawnee, brought supper to Tillie Bichelmeyer Friday evening. Tillie said she is slowly recovering from her surgery.

  • Bertha Nichols brought supper to Alta Vorhies Tuesday evening and visited with her.

  • Don and Sylvia Burns of Early, Iowa, and Betty and Rocky Mason brought supper to the home of Elsie Mathia Saturday evening. Cathey Coffee of Lawrence also ate supper with them. Afterward, the group enjoyed an evening of cards.

Don and Sylvia Burns and Betty and Rocky Mason drove to Oswego Sunday morning to visit Jerry Mason.

Don and Sylvia Burns and Betty and Rocky Mason played cards Sunday afternoon with their mother, Elsie Mathia.


  • Clarice Morriss was taken back to Lawrence Memorial Hospital early Friday morning. She was placed into the intensive care unit.

  • Gertrude Coon broke her hip and had surgery Wednesday afternoon at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was taken Saturday to the Baldwin Care Center for rehabilitation.

  • I attended the Grandparents Day celebration at a Tonganoxie school with my great-great-granddaughter Aftyn Hankins Friday morning.

Her great-grandparents LaVerne and Sharon Musick, Linwood, and her grandmother Anita Musick also attended.


  • My sister Carol Belles, Lawrence, took my daughter Sharon Musick and I out for lunch Tuesday to celebrate my 87th birthday.
