The Eudora Lions Club wishes to thank Eudora and the surrounding citizens that made the community garage sale fund-raiser such a success.
Several Lions Club members worked hard, but more importantly several members of the community volunteered willingly to assist with the project including David Pritchard, Tim Beatty, Darlene Slapar, Bonnie Daigh, Kristi Daigh, Kelly Daigh and Pam Schmeck who helped set up, sell and clean up afterward.
We appreciate Bill, Brent and Heather Whitten for furnishing a truck, trailer and manpower for hauling sale merchandise to the site.
We thank Donna Oleson, Pam Schmeck, Renee Shackleford, Marge Gronniger, Karen Russell, Janet Taylor and Alberta Pyle for providing bake sale items and we thank Stan Byrne and Julie Woodward for providing storage and the Eudora USD 491 school district for providing the school parking lot and tables. We hope we have not overlooked anyone.
Last but not least, we thank all those that supported the fund-raiser by donating items to sell and everyone that purchased items.
All proceeds of this fund-raiser will go toward the Eudora Statue Project.
The Lions Club will continue raising funds for this project.
Upcoming events are a summer raffle, a carnival at the EudoraFest celebration, a chicken/noodle dinner made by the Methodist kitchen committee, a "Show Your Talent" talent contest and a Christmas open house homes tour hosted by the Eudora Chamber of Commerce.
For those who have not already done so, please consider purchasing an engraved brick to be placed at the base of the statue. Order forms may be picked up at area merchants and Eudora City Hall.
We look forward to seeing everyone participate in this great Eudora project.
