Graff, Chino each grab top prize at Tongie race
September 28, 2006
For Brittney Graff, it was the same story, different week. For Joey Chino, winning a varsity cross country race was a whole new sensation. Eudora’s cross country team had to wait a few extra days after the Tonganoxie Invitational was postponed because of rain, but when the Cardinals finally put sole to trail, they made the most of the opportunity and swept the boys and girls varsity races.
Winning streak snapped as Cardinals tumble at Tongie
September 28, 2006
It was inevitably bound to happen, but that still does not make it any easier. After winning all of its matches up to the semi-finals, the Cardinal volleyball team was set to play the tournament’s host team Tonganoxie on Saturday.

New coach, fast start make 3-1 Gardner Edgerton highest hurdle yet
September 28, 2006
There’s no question the Cardinal football team has worked hard for its victories this season. But if they want to add another notch to their flawless record of 4-0, the Cards very well may have to work harder than they have before. The Cards are set to do battle with the Gardner Edgerton Trailblazers at 7 p.m. Friday in Gardner. And if the Blazers have proven anything this season, it is that they do not go down easily.

October is National Physical Therapy Month. For millions of Americans, hand-held electronic devices such as BlackBerries, Treos and Sidekicks are a source of convenience and efficiency. But, if used improperly, they can also be a source of chronic pain and injury, according to the American Physical Therapy Association.
Giving in to big cat hysteria
September 28, 2006
I’ve seen a lot of Kansas wildlife in the past year in my daily commute from Baldwin to Eudora. Turkeys are commonplace. I spot foxes once a month or so, often at night and within city limits. Deer are dangerously abundant. Raccoons and possums pave the road.
